Hey everyone! I’m recording this intro after a brief but admittedly scary stint of time stuck indoors yet again, being warned to stay home due to the quality of air pollution from the recent Canadian wildfire.Meanwhile, I’m super excited to introduce my next guest, who highlights how we can become stewards of the land as herbalists, and showcases how she grew her brand from scratch to a full-blown success story. Lauren Haynes is the founder and CEO of Wooden Spoon Herbs, a small-batch herbal apothecary brand that offers herbal tinctures, teas and tonics that act as a conduit for plant medicine. Founded in 2014, Lauren has grown Wooden Spoon Herbs into a go-to resource for farm-fresh herbal remedies. Lauren studied at the Appalachian Center for Natural Health under fifth-generation herbalist Phyllis D. Light. Driven by her desire to introduce more people to herbalism, Lauren started Wooden Spoon Herbs in the farmer's market, crafting products based on the most common concerns she saw. The brand, which has celeb fans like Jessica Alba and Alanis Morrisette, supports a farm-direct supply chain and sources only organic ingredients. Their popular Rose-Colored Glasses tincture has sold out 5 times and is also sold on Goop. Lauren now has over ten years of experience as a clinical herbalist. Through her herbalist education and practice, Lauren merges functional formations with lifestyle products that appeal to wellness enthusiasts and newcomers alike.

Three questions to ask
How can placing bigger bets, and making strategic investments that go beyond pilot initiatives, achieve transformation at scale?
How do organizations collaborate to share risk, data and rewards and realize a better future?
How do we move from a slowly digitizing world to connected care and ultimately to a smart health system?

We thought it would be beneficial to have a brief introduction to the concept of acadmic detailing (AD) and the evidence that supports AD. We also would like to briefly discuss our group (IL ADVANCE). We would introduce the structure of an AD visit leading into the specific opioid safety program for pharmacists. After identifying our topics we thought we could get into more detail about a couple, specifically special populations and OUD. We then would move on to the benefits of AD for the community pharmacist. We could then get into more detail about the IL ADVANCE team and the process for developing content. Next would be conclusions and wrap up.

Continuing advances in cell and gene therapy (CGT) are transforming the pharmacy and point of care ecosystem. Recent launches of new CGTs have yielded mixed results on getting the right therapy to the right patients. The CGTs pipeline and approvals are likely to rise dramatically in the near future. In 2024 alone, up to 21 cell therapy launches and as many as 31 gene therapy launches are on the horizon. Therefore, the launch readiness for these products should be effective so that the therapies can benefit as many patients as possible while ensuring a sufficient return on manufacturers’ investments. With so many new CGTs poised for commercialization, it’s imperative to consider innovative ways for a product launch that benefits CGTs patients. Ensuring that the market, the product, and the company itself are fully prepared for an effective launch will enable success.
